Interesting Fact(s):    Grant was baptized, Hiram Ulysses Grant, but due to an error, on his entrance papers, to West Point, he was enrolled as Ulysses Simpson (mother's maiden name) Grant.  It stuck.  Asking for terms of surrender, at Fort Donelson, Simon Buckner, a longtime friend of Grant, received the following: "nothing but unconditional surrender will be accepted," which would give him the nickname that matched his initials: Unconditional Surrender Grant.  Grant would lead the Union to victory, in the Civil War, and go on to become the 18th President of the United States.
