The marker, for US Brigadier
General W.H.L. Wallace's Division Headquarters, along the Pittsburg Landing
Road. Early in the fighting, on April 6, Wallace's Division would be
called up the Corinth-Pittsburg Landing Road, and would be positioned along
the Sunken Road - and the Hornet's Nest. Wallace would be mortally
wounded.
