From December 31, 1862 through
January 2, 1863, US Major General William S. Rosecrans' Army of the
Cumberland battled CS General Braxton Bragg's Army of the Tennessee, near
Murfreesboro, TN. The battle of Stones River would be very costly on
both sides. This is the entrance to the Stones River National
Battlefield Park.
