The Shiloh National Cemetery is part of the Shiloh National Military Park. It has a commanding view of the Tennessee River at Pittsburg Landing.
Bivouac of the Dead*

Thus 'neath their parent turf they rest, far from the gory field,
Borne to a Spartan mother's breast on many a bloody shield;
The sunshine of their native sky smiles sadly on them here,
And kindred eyes and hearts watch by the heroes sepulcher.
"Bivouac of the Dead", is displayed at national cemeteries. Verses shall appear on many of these pages.
