The U.S. Grant National Historic Site is a park commemorating the St. Louis home of U.S. Grant, and his wife Julia. The homestead that remains on the park, White Haven, is the home the Dent's lived in when Ulysses S. Grant, than a Lieutenant at Jefferson Barracks, was courting Julia.
The Grant's built a home on the adjacent park, Grant's Farm, when Grant resigned from the military. It was called "Hardscrabble" by Ulysses and still stands. The Grants lived at White Haven for a short time.
